Reverse light blinking

I did a search and couldn't find an answer, so here's my question: My reverse light lights up when I start my engine with the choke on. Mainly when I hit the gas a little and rpm's go up. It also lights up when I am running at speed; when I back off the throttle, it goes out. I don't notice any performance drop (rev limiter kicking in). I have a aftermarket cdi (RM Stator) that helped with performance, just causes starter to strain. I checked the connection of the reverse sensor, and it is tight. Is something wrong? Should I bag my cdi and go to Dynatech? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

X2... especially since it sounds like gets worse when rpm (vibration) increases

15 second check to confirm/deny the switch.

Was it the CDI, or the back-up light kit? or combination of both? I don't think it did it when I replaced the CDI, but after the back-up light kit (UTV Crap set-up), it started. Not saying that is the cause. Steve, Nick?? Like I said, it doesn't effect performance...just drives me nuts. I also want to make sure it is not indicating another problem.

When I unthread it, what am I looking for? What tells me if it's bad? Thanks alot for all the help!

Ok, it does that, but once i drive around some, the light begins a constant flashing, regardless of gear, and only disappears after stopping and starting the engine again, any suggestions? The light functions as it should until i drive some. I've already checked both locations on the wire and both appear to be fine.

I recommend grounding the wire to the motor where the battery cable is grounded...

If that solves the problem it was either the connection at the switch (notorious for this symptom) or the switch itself...

If that does NOT solve the problem then it is probably at or in the CDI or maybe the indicator depending on which indicator type you have...

Solidly ground the wire first... note that light should NOT come on in reverse or forward and you will have NO reverse rev/speed limiter...
