I bought mine 3 yrs. ago from cabelas, not sure of the brand. I really like it here in az.where it's 100+ degrees in the desert and you can up in mountains where it can drop down to 40 degrees. takes abought 30 seconds to put it up or take it down. I strap mine in the down position when trailering or running over rough terrian.

pop-on/off dual sport windshields

Please consider these when looking for a windshield that is super convenient, goes on and off in just a few seconds, pulls in less dust, and represent the newest look in rhino windshields.

They mount on a very strong, custom aluminum accessory bar that can be used for things like gps, tach, ipod, grab handles, o/s bars etc without interfering with windshield install and removal...also adds strength to oem cage...

Matching aluminum harness bars are available also..

Only the driver's side is shown in the video but they come as a matched set for both sides...

A link to our website is in our signature...

Please check our vendor section of this forum for products not yet shown on website....

Thanks for looking...

Rutting......why would you want that?....It looks like you took a regular windshield and blew it up, and clamped what was left on a piece of tubing. What happens if you get in a rainstorm....i doubt that is going to keep anything off of you.

It even costs more than a brand new J-Strong folding windshield......crazy??

Thanks for the compliments on my design, engineering, and workmanship...it's nice to know that is was a waste of time, money, and effort in you guy's opinion...

Obviously you both hate the look since it's not a flat piece of plastic strapped to tubing with cheap hose clamps...apparently that has a better look... I didn't think so but I am not you...

Mine pull in way less dust than a half shield when on/up... and way less dust when off than a folding shield when off than a folded down shield.....not to mention a better view in both cases...especially riding solo with just the driver's on... the lack of dust and better view cannot be compared to with anything else that still blocks the wind off your body...but that is no reason for anyone other than me to like them...

However, that is the answer to your question as to why I want them and like them even if you don't...I make what I like and sell what I make...

I don't see how any half shield is going to stop the rain...

No question that mine were not meant for rain... I live in a desert... but there are a lot of people who live in non-desert with half shields... :dunno:

Then again... I have been in hard rain with a full shield (I used to make those too...as well as halfs...only curved not flat...flat is...well, flat)... and got very wet...so I guess you need a full cab enclosure... why not get a truck instead then you get everything...windshield wipers...auto glass...cup holders...heater....a/c...heated seats and mirrors the whole nine yards...

Apparently I made a big mistake bring these to market if you guys hate them that much...without trying them of course... :33:

I hope those other ones you like so much better are polycarbonate and not acrylic....other wise you might get less than half your money's worth...But I am not interested in bashing other peoples products that don't work worth a damned for me or break too easily or whatever.... just interested selling mine to people who like what I make...

The bulk of the cost of making mine is the billet aluminum products that don't wear out or break...other people make bolt on cross bars...of course the bolt-on cross bar/grab bars that others make and sell are not exactly compatible with the flat pieces of plastic hose clamped to tubing...

Mine were engineered together as a system...a system that works extremely well for me...even it if does cost more and doesn't appeal to you... Mr. Smith700...

But I am not interested in bashing other peoples products just interested selling mine to people who like them...

Unlike you guys I don't bother to respond negatively to someone else's stuff just because it doesn't appeal to me...too busy being positive on things I do like to be taking any cheap shots...

Just out of curiosity... do you guys bash every product you wouldn't buy for yourself...???

And also curious Mr. Smith700 if you ever designed, engineered, manufactured and brought to market anything new and different in any way... I would like to see what you did on your own...maybe I would want to buy one... :)

Thanks for the feedback...you guys are the best.... :13:

I think the original thread was for "FOLDING WINDSHIELDS". Don't get bent when you hijack the thread and push your "SCOOTER FAIRING" and somone blows you up. He probably did not have to say what he said but you've been on this forum for a whole month and a half so you should know you are going to get some crap sooner or later. One more thing to add......I'm sure most on this forum have seen your lengthy editorials and this latest rant is ridiculous. I am not bashing your product, but if smith700 or any of the others (including myself) that wanted to discuss "FOLDING WINDSHIELDS" actually wanted your stuff or to hear anymore about your stuff, they would have contacted you for your stuff.

Just sayin.....

WTF is this? Guys... Seriously...

The original thread was dead for 4 months... Craig "resurrected" it because he's a paying sponsor of this board selling a product that may appeal to not only the original poster, but others looking for windscreen options as well. If you read Craig's first post, he was actually quite courteous in how he brought up his product.

Let it go at that... Craig seems like an honest guy, I've talked to him in depth on his product. He's got a unique product and one that he takes pride in bringing to the market. He also goes out of his way to help out a lot of people on this board...

If the two people in this thread want to continue "blowing him up" then ok, I'm going to light you two up like your gramma's birthday cake... Let it go...

Just sayin...not everyone in the country is desert/sand riders, especially the guy that asked the question (ozzy) about what's the best windshield, who lives in WV, not sand dunes.
I think it would be crazy to spend your asking price of $370.00, when you can buy a full folding windshield, with all hardware for $200.00....and You could buy a dash bar for around $100, and you would still come out with a better deal. With your system, if any winds picked up, your "shield" is going to do absolutely nothing, mud is the same way.....dust, if you are riding behind someone, then it doesent really matter what windshield you have, you are gonna get covered.....i have front, rear windshield, top, and the trail armor dust kit....and will still get dusty--no way around it.
Do I bash products I don't own??? Well no....I just don't see spending that kind of money on a "windshield"....that only covers 20% of the front of you.
Get a folding J-Strong windshield.....un-do 2 quick release clamps, and it's off.....not "cheap hose clamps"....easy as that
What happens when you hang a tree/limb or branch on your shield and breaks it off the bar?? Do ya even offer any sort of warranty info....of wait, that can't happen, since you ride in sand dunes.....:rofl3:
Give me a break.....

Entertaining thread!

A simple cure for dust when running a half/full windshield is to use the Dust Skirt from Stitchmasters and a rear window(easy if you have a 2 seater). I have been running my setup for over 3 years now and love it!

It doesnt rain or snow in the desert???

After going through 2 lexan windshields because of scratches, I decided to get a windshield that would last for years. Now, granted the original poster wanted to know what the best folding windshield was, I suggest that you spend the extra, use a bit of ingenuity and use this system.
Mind you I had the full lexan windshield but this would work with the half too. Took the old lexan windshield to a glass company and had them template, cut a custom tempered glass one. It costs more to bore the holes than the slab of glass. I use the same hardware as the full windshield and insert rubber grommets in all the holes as well as sandwich rubber between the supports(no metal touching glass). A little custom camo taping around the bottom and it's water proof. I ride in mud, rain, snow, wind, sun and this keeps me totally dry. Doesn't suck in dust and actually keeps me cooler in the hot sun.
Total cost of tempered glass windshield $420CAN.

Now this may or may not appeal to you because of cost, but if the one that you buy becomes scratched and you get sick of impeded vision, this may be an option.

Another option would be the Kolpin Tilting windshield. I just bought this one from Gander Mountain for $299 with free shipping. It is very good quality and I like the "venting" option on it so I can get air flow but still have the protection of a full windshield. Plus you can use this one with a roof. HIGHLY recommend this one.

Mr. Smith... yes, you are a basher... simple as that... :rofl3:

It's okay tho... :)

Vendors pay for the privilege of advertising which pays for the forum...

So I pay for your privilege of being able to jump on the opportunity to insult my product and me personally in a rude manner when I try to show it to the people I made it for...just something to think about when you are busy spouting off... :13:

You have not one clue as to what it takes to come up with something different...manufacture it...and get it to market...on your own...with your own resources...for such a limited market... and actually make enough to eat at the end of the day...maybe if you did you would have at least some respect for those who actually try to do that...even if you don't like what they make...

And I'll just bet that you are one of those people who think you should get paid a lot more for whatever it is you do so well... :hypnotized:

I have to thank you tho...because the truth is I like this stuff...don't want to be too hypocritical about it because I have been known to spout off a time or two myself...

Kronic, You make an outstanding point. Rutting is a paid sponsor of the site, that's great and he should be responsible to his own image as a sales-person and considerate of what others think, just for his own good if anything at all. But understand that being a sponsor does not give someone the right to lay down endless diatribes of pissing, moaning and feeling sorry for himself when he get's lit up. I'm sure Rutting himself would agree that people buy from people they like. OUT
