The year of the Rhino makes a difference on what spring to use, what year is the car?

 

my car is a 06

 

I am not familiar with other brands than EPI...If I had a spring rate chart for other brands I would consider trying one...

You can't go wrong with an EPI blue secondary spring on a basically stock 06...one thing for sure is the stock spring is too soft if you are wanting real performance and especially if you have a cdi and sheave mod...both highly recommended...

An orange might work better...then again it might be stiffer than ideal for a stock motor...

The secondary spring sets up the dynamic range of the cvt...the ideal spring for all occassions imo is the one that gives you the highest top speed according to gps in 2wd low up against the rev limiter...

If acceleration on relatively level terrain is highest priority then you should select the one that yeilds the lowest e/t in a 0-300' holeshot...

It's going to vary depending on crankshaft hp, vehicle weight, tire size, and application...

 

Than yes, I have a Utv Crap sheave and the purple with 14gram weights in my '07 and I like how it feels

 

Any suggestions on a 08 car minor mods and mostly trail driving

 

Other guys including myself are doind the Orange spring on the 08's. I have only minor mods too.

 

Steve, just to make everyone know...

We do not use epi springs, we have our springs made else wheres. So our purple spring is not the same tension as the epi purple springs.

Ours are purple with a white stripe, we use them for our 660 duner kits.

I would run the blue spring and the 14gram weights. I think the orange would be to much.

 

I use the orange secondary spring with 14 gram rollers and I think it works great. Acceleration it much quicker, no more belt slip. Engine revs up more and doesn't ever drop off, just keeps pulling hard up to 55 mph or so. My engine is stock except for CDI, inlet and tip.

 

All i have is tip, and cdi and it drops at around 40 MPH have only got it to 43 MPH on flat ground is that normal ?

 

Hey Otis you have the 700? If you do the 700 will do like 41-42 stock. So if your only getting 40 with a cdi then i think there might be something that is wrong somewhere.
