Rhinos going up hills.....

I have been looking online and maybe I am just not finding it, but I have a question that I need an answer too. Where I live there are a lot of mountains and some of the trails I ride have 100-200 yard long hill climbs that are pretty steep. With my Grizzly 700 I am able to go up these hills with no problem as long as I sit up close to the gas tank or stand up. Are the rhino front ends heavy enough that they can be taken up hills like these or will they flip? Just trying to find out through discussion rather than the hard way. I appreciate any input povided.

I could see that. Well I don't really have any way to show the hills, I just know that most four wheelers go up it with no problem, so I guess what I was asking is will a rhino go up hills that four wheelers will go up in general? I know in the end there may be no other way to find out than just trying it out, but I was just looking for some owner experiences.

I'll take my Rhino up steeper hills that I will with my 4x4 quad. The Rhino will spin out way before it will go over backwards. As long as the hills are straight climbs and not side hills

We have been in Moab this weekend and have done helps revenge and behind the rocks with a rhino 450. I think side x sides climb just as easy even if they weigh a little more. I feel the additional weight is centered and low enough to help also.

Thanks for all of the information. Yeah all of the hills are primarily straight up, and are all dirt. There are some spots that are rutted out from people taking trucks and jeeps up the trails, but overall the hills climbs are fairly level. As soon as I can get up there I will take some pictures to show what the terrain is like. The place is called Beasley Knob and it is in Blairsville Georgia if anyone has heard about it.

the rhino will go up Beasley Knob no problem! take it easy with smooth throttle and you will climp it like it wasnt there. i grew up in Hiawassee and have ridden my rhino over in blairsville before i joined the Army!
OK good, because thats one of my favorite places to ride. You probably know the hill I am talking about. If you park in the lot next to the turkey food plot that is closer to Blairsville, and you follow that trail to the four way intersection I am talking about the trail to the left and the right that have those really long hill climbs. Espcially the one that goes to the left and goes straight up then back down into the gully and ends in that gravel turn around. That is the trail I was wondering about. Thanks for the information. Any other pointers about riding rhinos out there, this is my first one and I don't want to make a big mistake and get hurt.

The main thing on steep hills is not to have the bed loaded and noty to hit any bumps on the hill too hard... Plent of stuff on Toutube..

Personally I have climbed hills with my 450 Rhino that my buddies with Brute 750s wouldn't attempt...

The Rhino climbs like a billy goat. Longer wheelbase than the Grizz, more weight, and a lower center of gravity. Like said above, just steady on the throttle. That vid of the guy flipping over backwards is the posterboy for how not to drive, LOL.

I take my Rhino up inclines that I would never attempt on my quad. On the quad you are literally sitting several inches above the motor which gives you a very high center of gravity. Whereas on the Rhino you are sitting alot lower beside the motor and overall weight of the machine is greater. I ride with a full 54 quart ice chest and 2 very large ammo boxes full of tools and junk without any issues but I would not load a bunch of firewood and make the same climbs.

Here's a vid of my 450 climbing a long, steep hill. It's probably about 1/4 mile straight up a ridge to the top of the mountain. The worst part is the deep water bars cut into it, usually at angles, to divert the water off the trails. You can't maintain any speed or momentum -- you just have to keep crawling. Climbing over and out of the waterbars, the guys on quads are standing, leaning over the handlebars. The Rhino just crawls on through...
