Got a 07 or older? Want Cup Holders?

I was one that got a 660 a month before the 700's came out... and I cant get over how nice the 700 is with the nice cup holders and console. So I was thinking, I bet one from an 08 would fit. All the after market consoles are $125 and up, which is ridicules. So I went to my local dealer and had him look up the 08 engine cover with the console.

$38 (He even hooked it up for $33) for that entire piece, I cant believe its that cheap. So I ordered one. It looks like it will fit right in place, but even if not, you can make a minor adjustment, its plastic. Ill take some pictures once I get the piece in, they said probably Friday!

Figured I would let you guys know.

Here is the part I am talking about. It is the exact picture as the dealer showed me. Although this picture it from a 660 so it will not show the cupholders and center console molded in. It is number 3 in the picture, thats the part your replacing. There is no graphics for the 2008's online yet, but it looks EXACTLY the same except for the cupholders.. so I dont see why it wont fit. A friend and mechanic at my local Yamaha dealer said it should snap right it, he said he never even thought about that and that it was a great idea. So hopefully it snaps right in, even if I have to modify it slightly, its still worth $38.

Its number 3 in the pic. I will get the part number asap. Even the parts guy said he cant believe its only $38.. so better order yours before Yamaha updates the price!

We are just replacing the lower cover. It should make no difference if you have an intake on the top or not... right?

You need to see if the mounting is the same first. Is the dealer telling you that they are the same?

My one friend that works there as a mechanic said he dosent see why it wont fit, we were all looking at it on the screen. For $38 ill be the guinny pig! Even if it was TOTALLY different, you could cut the cup holder part right off and there is still 2 holes on each side even if you just rivited it in... but I really think it will work. Like I said, it should be here Friday, so we shall know this weekend.
