i wired up my rocker switch yesterday when i installed my plow and noticed that ever since i put on that rocker switch the winch winches out slower than it winches in. Is this normal?

I never noticed it this summer when i was using the remote to operate the winch.

I have a Viper 4500# wire rope.

Sounds like wires are backwards ? I would think you want it to retract slower.I have the same winch and mine does sound like its lower when retracting.

the wire could be kinked and rusty making it difficlut to unspool. switch it to the synthetic rope.
just curious, why are you winching out and not using freespool?

It was when i was winching out to drop the plow. I figured out the problem and fixed it. The yellow post on the winch was grounding to the bumper. Shimmed it and it works fine. Glad i caught it before it did any major damage.

Sounds like for the plow.. and x2 on the synthetic.
