Valve adjustment help

First of all happy thanksgiving! I need help with adjusting the valves, i have the engine at top dead center according to the service manual provided by UTV crap (thanks!) but for some reason it looks like i have to adjust the tappet way down because of the clearence is this normal or am i misunderstanding something? Here is a picture that i have taken can anyone help with explaing this to me...

you have too much valve clearance right??? this is common on the exhaust..... the intake valves are usally tight..... make sure it is on the compression stroke.....all the valves are closed...

As stated above, make sure all valves are closed. You should be able to wiggle the rocker arms by hand if they are. Then start doing your adjusting.

thanks bro i just got those intake heads i started playing with it and figured it out. Thanks man for your reply even on thanksgiving. Now im going to try to do the exhaust valves now.
