This is my first post here and I tried to find the answer to my questions by searching elsewhere. I just got a 2013 a couple of months ago and have slowly fixed a few things and changed a few things to get it where I want it. I have had some front end alignment issues though and started looking around I noticed a few things. When the steering wheel is straight the lines on the steering rack don't line up. Not even close. It's about 90 degrees off if not more. My first question is is there only one way for this u joint to be splined on or is it possible the previous owner did something to get it "out of time" so to speak. My other question is what is the best way to remove the steering shaft assembly? I noticed the top u joint bolt was galled and the hole was stripped out. I was thinking of removing it to put a helicoil in it since the shaft assemblies aren't cheap. I have enjoyed the past few months with my Rhino and can't wait to get it how I want it. Looking at upgrading the sheave next summer.

Sorry about the pictures being sideways not sure what happened there. I'm not so much worried about the steering wheel being straight I know that can be fixed easily enough. I am mainly just trying to figure out if I need to align the wheels based off of the alignment mark on the rack or base it off of something else. I didn't know if the rack was keyed or something where the marks would always line up.

I am not following your description of the problem with the marks. If it were me I would take the tie rod ends lose and turn the steering wheel lock to lock and make sure rack had full range and the steering wheel was centered where it needed to be. Obviously the splines need to be locked but not beyond the realm to drill the clamp and use a larger graded bolt with a nut to get the required squeeze of the clamp. After verifying the foregoing then square-up/align wheels and see if the tie rod ends can fit as required. This could reveal a bent spindle.
