I bought it used. Went into some snow and went to spin out and heard a snap. It is a black plastic looking one with the bolts being coupled together. Just wondering if they make a better spacer.

IMHO, the best rear spacer is NO spacer. The guys I ride with take them out so we can stay narrow on the trails. But we leave the rear anti-swaybar in because the ride TO the trailhead is mostly high-speed FSR and it's less tippy in the corners. If yours has the Yamaha "recall" spacers, you might not have an anti-swaybar anymore.
