sandblasting and painting rims

I'm wanting to sandblast and re-paint my rims. Has anybody done this? Looking for recommendations on type of paint to use.

Thanks,
Trav

have you considered getting them professionally powder coated? They typically sandblast first as part of the process and powder coating is baked on and much more durable than paint. Lots of colors and finished to choose from...just an idea.
I have a place to sandblast them. I was trying to avoid the price of powder coating if I could. I was looking for something cheaper that someone had had good luck with.
I always had my old rims done by a powder coating company but if I was to do it at home I might try Dupli-Color Wheel Coating. It’s an acrylic enamel.

ok. thanks.
Just concerned that any type of paint may not bond well with your sandblasted rims and scratch off easily with off-road use...have you considered other types of treatments, like the bluing they use on guns?
