I just bought a 2012 Rhino and installed a Curtis Cab enclosure without using their doors, another words I have the stock Yamaha doors. I am trying to figure out a way to mount a gun mount to carry my rifle. The only way I can see of doing this is either an overhead mount, which I had on my other Rhino and did not like, or a vertical gun mount on the outside drivers side running down the roll bar and forward of the door. I would have to use a gun boot or scabbard, which would be ok. Has anybody seen this done this way? No room to mount a gun rack in the rear because I have the Yamaha cross bed storage box.

Why not across the top of the front of the windshield? Or vertical in front/left of the passenger, old school police car style?

Why didn't you like the ceiling mount?

I use the kolpin floor mount, mount it tight to the doghouse on the passenger side, works perfect and keeps the guns out of the elements.
