hi everyone, looking at some info on rebuilding my rhino. I bought this 2008 with a blown rod so planned on a complete rebuild. The info I am looking for is where to stop. The rhino came with a 734 piston bb kit but now I am thinking of the 780 kit. I was also planning on an EPI clutch and also a new ignition to take away the rev limiter. I was talking the other day with a Yamaha expert, (Chad at CR Racing, mostly turbo sleds I believe) and he said I need to watch out with the big bores as they will overheat. I do not want to get that deep and have to start changing the rad etc but want a reliable sxs with some power and speed behind it. Is it worth the extra for the 780 kit or just stay with the 734 and new clutch etc.

TIA Doug

I would keep the rev limiter especially with a built motor. I have an 09 700 with cam, bored throttle body, duel muzzys, efi intake and and msd fuel and ignition programmer. I could bump mine up to 8,500 rpm but i set it at 7,800 for reliability
If ur worried about over heating put a fan override switch in it
