For the life of me, I have no idea what this Bolt and copper washer's function is. Any Gurus out there can 'splain this to me??? It's in the center of the picture, and looks like it goes into the area of the shift drum.

Its a spring with a ball bearing on the end that acts as a detent or stop point when shifting.

No offense, but the detent bolt/spring/ball is the horizontal bolt head to the left of this. The one I am referring to is not a hollow bolt like the detent one is.

Just checked the manual, it is just a screw in plug with a small view of trans. As many that I built I don't ever remember using it.

Thank you for the reply! I searched the manual myself but couldn't find it. Had my hands in a lot of engines, but my first time in a Yamaha.....still learning!
