I have a 2007 Rhino 660 Sport Edition. For some reason my digital meter will not display numbers or fuel gauge. The Back green light will only light up. So I bought a new Meter part#5UG-83500-22-00. Thinking my old meter was bad. I ordered a new meter and installed it. And the new meter was doing the same thing. Only back green light will light up and still no numbers or any type of display. I'm stumped. I checked the fuses and all seem to be in good shape. I fallowed the wires that connect to the meter and the seem to go to my CDI. I have a black rhino performance CDI. I called them up asking if they may know of any type of issues with CDI and the meter and they said nothing that they know of. Is there a fuse just for the display? Please Help...

I took a peek at the 660 service manual wiring diagram. There are actually 3 connectors involved in connecting the digital dash into the wiring harness. Make sure that all 3 have clean contacts and are properly plugged together, look for any loose or out of place wires while you are there. There are 2 separate fuses that feed power to the digital dash: The 'Ignition' fuse and the poorly named 'Backup' fuse. The 'Backup' fuse has only the task of supplying its power to the digital dash, so this is a prime suspect here. Just to be sure, check the voltage to ground on both ends of both of those fuses while plugged in and powered up. The wire colors are Red/White stripe and Red/Green stripe respectively.

The meter issue has been solved. First off I took the rhino to Yamaha and had them look in to the issue. After 3 weeks of trying everything Yamaha was unable to figure out the problem. They state that they tried everything and now had to wait for a specialist from Yamaha to go take look at stuff. So I continued to do research and found a post from a Grizzly 660 forum. And found a post with a guy having the same issue. He said he had to replace the whole wire harness to get his meter working. So I bought a used wire harness from another person on this forum and installed it my self. After install I fired up the rhino and now my meter works like it used to.
