It would be easy to add an alarm to it. I have never drove with the brake on myself thought. Also I cant figure out what you mean by the shifter being backwards.
Park alarm
I have caught myself and others running with the ebrake on. I thinking of a small audable alarm if the park lamp is lite on my 06 SE, with the ignition on? Anyone done this? And does the shifter seems backwards....

I think I can agree with the shifter being backward as I have often thought forward and low should be pull back and reverse forward. However I also see the logice push forward to go forward and back to go back.. each to his own I guess Oh and YEA to a kit for a park alarm. I would buy one. I have it on my tractor and hate it and love it.. but it does save the brakes.
UTV Inc sells e-brake alarms for both the 660 and the 700. They are 30 bucks.
