New to the Rhino riders

Helloo to all, I am new here and not really sure how this Forum works but I'm trying. I have a 2012 Rhino 700 with 1200 miles, i have a few question hoping to get some answers, How long do the Rhinos usually last with proper care and maintenance, (actually in miles) I seem to be only getting 38 mph in speed is that normal ? I understand there is a free wheel gear and mine goes not seem to be working as I read it should, is it bad to keep riding it like it is or will it cause more damage ? should I check the belt and clutch ? and what is the miles you need to do maintenance and oil changes. Thank you

Welcome. Rhinos last quite a while if you take care of them. They are work horses. There's guys on here that I have heard have over 9000 miles on them and they're still running. As for 38mph that's what they are limited to from factory. If you want a bit more speed then you need to start adding some mods. Aftermarket clutch, sheave, clutch weights, CDI, fuel/ignition controller, etc will all give you more speed. The CDI will make the most difference right off the hop as it will take way the factory speed limiter. I'm not sure what you mean by a "free wheel gear". They are usually either in 2wd, 4wd high, 4wd low, 4 wheel locked. The rear diff is always locked whether in 2wd or 4wd. Regular maintenance is good so yes, check your belt and clutch if the machine is new to you. As for oil changes I typically do one every year. Depends on how much you run yours though. If you are planning on putting a lot of miles on then change the oil more frequently.

Hey bud, Thank you so much for the reply and advice. I really appreciate it. So. how many miles before I change the oil ? free wheel gear is the gear that slows you down when going down a hill and not applying the gas, the motor actually slows you down without using the brakes. Mine doesn't slow down with the engine which means i have to use the brakes so the free wheel gear is not working and wondering if i don't change it soon and drive it will it do more damage ? Its a bearing in the clutch assembly

The manual recommends every 150 hours or 1500 miles, but most guys will tell you this is too long. Most do about half that, 75 hours or 750 miles. That's typically about when I do mine. I don't usually put on more than 750 miles a year. Ah, you're talking about engine braking. There's a one way bearing that takes care of that. When your one way bearing needs replacing is when you find that your engine doesn't slow you down when going down hills. It won't hurt anything but is helpful when it works so you might want to change it if you're going to tune up your clutch anyways.
