So I bought a 06 660 for a deal since I saw a head gasket issue. I just replaced the gasket along with the rest of the seals associated with it. Did a drain and flush on the radiator and changed the oil. Well my issue is first the was a bunch of white smoke coming from where the header means the heads. I figured it was just burning off something I spilled but it kept rolling. Then as it idled I went to check the oil and there was some mean blow by. Am I to assume I need to change the piston and rings now? And any idea with the white smoke????

white smoke is most likely antifreeze does it smell sweet? and it does sound like you may need a piston an rings. try a compression check. Are the valves adjusted to spec.

Didn’t smell sweet and I got piston and rings on order and I’ll be adjusting the valves accordingly. I’ll let you know how she turns out
