Old thread but I haven't seen anyone knowing how to fix the problem.

Simple fix is take the switch out,wipe off all the grease.Then take a piece of 220 grip sand paper and lay it on a flat surface,then lay the switch on it and begin so sand the face of the switch.Sand until all the contacts as good and shiny once again. What happens is the lil ball in the housing on the engine wears a grove in the switch and contacts and the ball loses contact with the small neutral contact.Sanding the face will remove that grove and allow the ball to make contact once again.
