I believe I have a locked up motor will look farther into it this weekend: just bought it. thought it was a head gasket but put a battery in it and I hear the solenoid and starter kick and motor trying to move but doesn’t. I was told it had a new jug put in and gaskets it was running but then it stopped and could not get it to turn over I took the spark plug out and still could not get it to turn over so checking my options out

Us updated on what happened. Simple as a Bad starter maybe? As long as the oil isn’t solid metal, head or cases aren’t destroyed - it can be repaired. If you remove the fan cover to access the fly wheel bolt (17mm socket)-try to rotate the crank either direction without forcing it- hopefully get the crank to spin to TDC. That way top
End will come apart and not damage your cam cover and head thread tapings - if they need to
Be inspected. If it does spin over fine or you spin the engine left always re torque the flywheel bolt before starting…hope it’s simple !
