Hello All,

I'm getting ready to buy a Rhino that will be used for hunting, camping, and riding around the hills with the family. So if I don't buy a 4 seater I will turn it into one. I have been looking at a few and wanted to get some opinions. All are 700 EFI.
The first is a 2009 Special Edition in black with a Dynatek ignition, 1,700 miles for $8,500.
The second is a 2008 Sport Edition in black with 2,000 miles for $8,900.
And the last one is a 2008 Ducks Unlimited. The dealer replaced the digital gauge because it was broke and said it showed 85 miles but he guessed it had around a 1,000 and was asking 8,500.
I was told from a relative who has a 660 that because I'm going to make it into a 4 seater I should get a Special Edition because of the shocks. Is the extra cost worth it?
Thanks.

I will get lots of hate mail for this...and imo the rhino is still the best utv on the market despite the faster ones...

Having said that...I would not buy a rhino to make a four seater...I would just get a full sized ranger crew...

OEM sport model shocks are very good shocks...I absolutely would recommend that if you can buy a sport model do it...those shocks are marginal at best for a 4 seater w/o putting stiffer springs on...which you can do...and you can have them re-valved for heavier load as well...

I also think that a four seater with stock a-arms is not a good idea...

I would look for one with LSR +3 mts and shocks that are set up for it...

Or one with long travel...

There are tons of great buys on 4 seaters used in both 660 and 700...built motors stock motors and ones with every mod in between...

The most bang for the buck is going to be one someone put $20k plus into and is selling for between 8k-10k that has custom cage with 4 seats and MTS or long travel suspension already done...

Thanks for the info Craig. It wont be used exclusively as a 4 seater, the kids have a quad and a XR70, and size is a issue so for those reasons I'm not looking at the Polaris.
I hope to find a good one that has already been converted over but was trying to make up my mind if that "deal of a life time" came on a sport model.
Thanks again.

Imo, the rhino is perfect as a four seater, depending on the type of riding you do. I see Craigs points, as always are valid! But not everyone who has a rhino rides the dunes or the desert or needs/wants a race rhino. I ride the mountains of idaho and width is a huge issue, so much that i dont run wheel spacers. I go places the ranger, and especially the ranger crews cant! I do agree with the sport shocks, to a point, I dont have even a quarter the knowledge of rhinos as craig, very few do. My rhino is a 08 special edition with the cheap shocks, I just recently installed hd springs on the stock shocks, and what a difference it made! No doubt that the sport shocks are superior, but are expensive, so i made do with what i got. I love the four seat set up on the rhino, my advice, buy the one you like and feel the best about buying. Then get on craigs website (rutting rhino) and buy the hot rod sheave. He has awesome customer service, both before and long after he gets your money! Hope this helps! Good luck!
