By having it machined like KMS and RhinoCrap do they allow the belt to ride lower for quicker take off and higher for more top end speed. The change is made because the sheave holds weights that move out with centrifical force. The machineing allows them to travel further.

Beware I have heard of Yamaha checking belt wear marks on sheaves during warranty claims.
So it enhances performance, does it make the belt wear faster ? why would it void your warranty ?
