First off, check the oil often and change at about 200-250 miles. I use rotella T syn 5-40 I think amsoil is junk but lets not start another fire
And the first and BEST mod you can do for your money is a sheave. Call JBS he is a vendor here and his number is in my signature. it will give you wicked low end for those hills you were talking about and let you cruise at lower RPM's
