Im working on the bosses rhino, They complained it was running fine all day, then they parked it for lunch, came back out and it wouldnt start. I went out to pick it up, and it fired right up. I trailered it back to my shop, Started fine again. Pulled it in the shop, it sat overnight and this morning I started it, It ran for about 10 seconds, and died. Now it wont start at all.

I tested for fuel, disconnected the fuel line, turned the key on, and fuel pump is working as it should.

I pulled the spark plug, replaced it with a new one, and tested it against the frame to check for spark. *No Spark!

Now this is where I need help, I searched this forum before I joined, and got a few ideas on what to check for.

-Battery- Good, 12-13 Volts ... It also Cranks over just fine, just no start

-Key switch, I can hear the contacts click when turned to start position.

-The spark plug cap, I tested for resistance, and it did have resistance, I believe it was 10.3 ohms? cant remember off hand...

-Read that if you think the stator may be bad, disconnect the regulator / rectifier and it will spark. Still no spark.

-Now I put my meter on both sides of the coil, and its getting 12 Volts.

I disconnected the wires that come off the stator, Can someone tell me what wires to test (and how to test them) to determine if this is my problem?

Does anyone have any other idea's?

Thanks in advance!

Also, Its all stock.. No aftermarket CDI box etc. etc. etc.

- Also checked wires going to the coil for corrosion, and they are clean.

- Also Checked fuses, all are good.

Just tested the crank sensor, its testing at .513 which is 'good'.. spec is 459 - 561

Just pulled the lean angle sensor, tried starting it while tilting it in different directions with no luck. Im going to test it per the manual now but I have to strip back some wires to do so.

Lean angle also checks out OK.

at 65* Voltage measures 3.9 V (spec 3.55-4.45V)
More than 65*, Measures 1.1V (spec 0.65-1.35V)

CDI Box ???

Just to make sure, you got .513? or 513? If you were on Kilo ohm then you are ok, but if you are on ohm then not so good.

i went through a phase were mine would have power, but sometimes crank and sometimes not.
i ended up needing a new starter relay. i could get it to crank by taking some pliers and jumping the contacts on top. no problems sense it was replaced

Today, I cranked it to check for spark (since its intermittent) and it was sparking good. So I put the plug back in the head, started it up. Ran for about 10 seconds and dies.

Now, Its giving me a new issue.. Fuel.
I pulled the fuel line off, turned the key, and fuel is spraying out. So I know its pumping, but it must be dieing off.

If I pull the breather hose off the air box, and spray throttle body cleaner in, it WILL stay running, and when I stop spraying, it dies out.

FML!
