We took the Rhino out to Cleghorn sat and did a 20 mile round trip. The first half of the road was ok they say a passager car can travel on it but I kind of doubt it. Lots of deep ruts, a lot of the the turns had some decent camber, enough that if you had to stop it felt uncomfortable. It was my GF and I and her son on my dirt bike. We packed a lunch and a cooler and stopped on the way back for lunch and a nice break. Great day. WE are going to Stoddard Wells next weekend!
I am having a carb issues. at have throttle it feels like it is loading up and if I punch it , it will clear. I did a post about this in another section. As I stated there the previous owner put in a big bore kit and he ran it open air box with a hard connection K&N. When I got it I went through and started replacing missing parts which included the airbox cover. I put that back on and it seems to have ran worse since then. So after getting last night I removed it and it seems like it is breathing better. But I wont know until I take it out this coming weekend. If it still does this then I will yank the carb and do a rebuild. Thats something I normally do when I buy a used bike, this should be no different. I have a 91 DR 250 that did the same thing as this it felt like it was loading up at half throttle. So I redid the carb and that cured the issue. I noticed that after removing the airbox it seems to run and idle better.
123°F. Run, jump in Colorado river, get in soaked. Haul ass 14 miles down Indian pike road, cross Nevada border (hope you have helmet on, cops hiding in tree shade waiting), get ice creams at Avi Casino, jump in water, repeat back to beach. Jump in river along the way as necessary.
As far as I know we are going up on sat takes me about an.hour and a half to get there riding around for the day. We will camp that night head back home next day. Would love to have someone who knows the area to ride some of the trails. I looked on google maps what I thought was the ohv area and where we used to ride are 2 different areas we always exited on the second stoddard wells road and took.it past all the houses until it turned to dirt then another couple miles past that. Was an old mine shaft up on a hill close to where we camped and set up. But that was a good 15 years ago. We can figure out how to meet up later on in.the week.
There are two Stoddard wells exits, you can exit either one, but the second one is preferable. The old riding area around bell mountain is now closed, so you must drive further up the road to the new area. I have marked several red dots where you can camp away from the large flat areas where you will find all of the bro's (and dust). This is a massive riding area which encompasses all of Stoddard wells, Barstow and Lucerne Valley. SlashX is about 20 miles from your camp towards Barstow, bar and grill (young kids okay), there is no gas there so make sure you can make a round trip. There is a lot of flat-haul-ass across the desert stuff and there are mild to insane rock climbs. You couldn't see it all if you stayed out there a month. Carry water, even if you are going a short distance from camp.
I recently noticed that both of the mounting tabs for the coolant reservoir on my rhino have broken off, and my coolant reservoir is only held in place by the hoses. Has anyone else had this issue? I am wondering if I should just buy another reservoir, or if it is a common problem and I should...
Hi all, I’ve pulled my Rhino clutch down and found what I expected. The wet clutch is fried. I have been able to get my hands on a good second hand wet clutch assembly out of a 2015 Grizzly.
My buggy is a 2012 Rhino.
What I’ve noticed is that the one way bearing has what looks like a...
