Hey guys,

I realize I'm kinda new here relatively speaking, but I have one suggestion to make the 'For Sale' section a little better. All of the firearm forums I'm involved with have a similar rule to what I'm suggesting, so thought I'd throw it out there.

Is there any appetite to create a rule that says you must post a price for whatever you're selling? I find a lot of 'pm me for details', and 'make me an offer', and it can be frustrating.

The rules for most other forums are:

- Must post a price
- Lock the thread so only the one selling the item can post to it. Everything else goes through Private Message or email. This prevents guys from posting lame comments about price being out of whack, or 'great deal!' (i'm guilty of that sometimes... ;)) and prevents pages and pages of guys writing 'is this still available?' or 'still have this?'. It just make it easier to read and find what you're looking for!

Just a suggestion... feel free to tell me to blow it out my arse or eff off... I won't be offended. :)

Also, if I may suggest... Some sort of 'trader rating'? While fraud may not be an issue YET, the sad reality is that as membership increases, the number of douchebag cons increases as well.

I'm very active over at Canadian Guns and Firearms Discussion Forums for Shooting , Hunting and outdoor in Canada. Firearms Buy, Sell and Trade Listings. Forum de discussion Canadien sur les armes à feu et la chasse, and the trader rating system there is VERY cool. Check is out.... You can leave feedback on each deal you make - both the buyer and seller. For example... CanadianGunNutz.com

This site DOES rock in its current incarnation, so please don't take my suggestions as trying to rock the boat too much... Thanks to all the mods and guys who volunteer on here!

IMO...

You cannot legislate common sense and decency...

My vote is for leaving it alone...

Live and learn how not to or not to buy and sell...

Better for people who are concerned about it to have a simple buyer/seller golden rule of their own to live buy...

Money talks...bullshit walks...

Here is how it works...

Don't ask someone what they will take for something and go away...don't tell people you want something if you are not actually ready to pay for it...essentially putting a hold on the seller while you f/around....instead...tell someone who has something you want what you are willing to pay and if they don't accept it then walk away with your money...because it's worth more to them than it is to you...simple as that...

And if you are selling something and don't list a price...jerk buyer's around...don't post sold notices...don't answer people who ask if you still have it...lie about what you have...don't ship the item....then your a f/n asshat who deserves what karma gives you upside the head down the road...and you cannot outrun her... :13:

What are the three dumbest questions ever asked...???

1. Why me...???

Answer...because you are an asshat and you deserve what you get...

2. Can't we all just get along...???

Answer... F/ NO...

3. Can't you just ___________ ...???

Answer... NO... I can't... If I could ... It would already just be done...

Just a few of my personal favorites anyway...

As long as we can keep the spammers off the board I'll be happy... :fingersx:

no price posted on an item so you have to wait around for days waiting for the seller to find the time to respond with a price. aggravating to say the least. sellers should have the courtesy of posting the price for what they are selling. wouldnt hurt to post when an items sold as well. nice topic to bring up canucklehead.

I have used this forum to buy and sell. Both can be very easy, but both can be frustrating. Just how it is I guess. I like the ideas of the OP but seems like some work from the mods to make it work right.

I'm not concerned either way.
I think we got a bidding thread going on one thread right now - and I like bidding :)

on a side note, I've done a lot of deals with people / companies on this board, and all have been outstanding.
