That was pretty funny [without sarcasm]. However, I'm a C5/6 quadriplegic so hand strength isn't my forte. I used to have a cap for my van that didn't have to be removed to fill with gas. It had a spring-loaded trapdoor in the center of the cap. That's what I'm trying to find.

My new ford truck doesnt have a gas cap, just a spring loaded door like you said. I wonder if they dont make something like that for these because people tend to get them under water and covered in mud. Mine is a pain sometimes too if I tighten it too much.

They are a real lousy design. I have not seen any replacements. I am an able bodied, strong male and have trouble with it almost every time to get it back on. No idea why??? Mine will also leak if parked on a steep slope with a full tank. Sorry, no ideas

get a cap like this and figure out a way to but a t handle or rope tiedowns on it.
I would think some screws would seal well with some jb weld put in the holes.
