No, u need a machined sheave and slug ur wet clutch

The CDI just lets you get past your rev and speed limiter, as Brian mentioned the sheave and different weights and spring will give you that, without the CDI you can't go past 44 with the sheave. The dynatek CDI is a better quality USA made CDI too.
