10/14/11- EL CAJON, CA- It was an exciting weekend at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA. Black Rhino/Paramount Motorsports’ drivers Bryan Osborn, driving the Black Rhino #854 SR1 and Alex Osborn, driving the Black Rhino #899 SR1 were sporting the “Race for the Cure” theme donated by CPR Wraps. This weekend would be Alex Osborn’s first time racing since the 2010 Season and his first time racing in the SR1 UTV class.

Bryan Osborn, driving the Black Rhino #854 was looking to defend the Championship in Round 4 of the So Cal Regional Series. After leading the first 7 laps, Osborn had a tire go down. Black Rhino sponsored driver Gary Thompson in the Thompson Roofing #802 had moved up to 2nd at the mandatory caution. He continued to move forward taking over and holding 1st at the checkered flag. Alex Osborn, driving the Black Rhino #899 ran 5th up to lap eight when he passed Bryan Osborn to take over 4th position. Bryan was able to get past him on the last lap leaving Alex with a 5th place finish, not bad for his first time out. Bryan Osborn sitting only 5 points ahead of Gary Thompson at the beginning of the day finished 4th.
All anyone could do was to wait for the Championship Points to be tallied up and announced at the Awards Ceremony that evening. In the end Bryan Osborn and Gary Thompson tied in points with Bryan winning the Black Rhino SR1 UTV Class Championship based on number of wins for the season. Gary Thompson took home 2nd in Championship Points.

Jacob Shaw driving the Black Rhino/SFI Designs #56 Modified UTV suffered mechanical issues on lap three in the main but was able to collect enough points for a 3rd place in Championship Points in the Black Rhino Unlimited UTV Class.

In the 450 Modified Karts, Osborn went into Round 4 sitting in third place. Driving the Black Rhino #588 it was a back and forth battle for all positions with Osborn crossing the finish line in 3rd place, finishing 3rd in Championship Points for the Synergy Electric Modified 450 Class.
