After much research here I have decided I am going to get new bighorn Tires for my Rhino 700 in the stock tire sizes 25x10-12 rear and 25-8-12 front. These will go on my stock rims.
The choice is btw the radials (models M917 and M918) and the 2.0 (models MU09 and MU10). Note the Maxxis website says the 2.0 is a radial also.
Per website:
Radials:
“The tread pattern and wide footprint give this radial exceptional traction, and the Bighorn’s shoulder lugs protect the sidewalls. Solid raised white lettering gives thistire an attractive look. With radial construction, recreational riders as well as ATV racers will immediately appreciate the ride quality and comfort. Mike Penland won his 10th GNCC Utility Stock Championship on the Bighorn radial.
· Radial construction offers a significantly smoother ride over rough trails
· Extra lugs on the shoulder protect the sidewall and rim
· Raised white lettering on one side
· Tire is suitable for desert, dirt, and rock application”
Bighorn 2.0:
"Based on the legendary Bighorn, the new Bighorn 2.0 is a lightweight version that mimics the tread design of the original, with a slimmer profile. Radial construction provides better shock absorption, allowing for a smoother ride. The non-directional pattern provides predictable cornering and claws up roots and rocks, creating optimum climbing confidence. The Bighorn 2.0 boasts a 6-ply rating, offering the durability that you’ve grown to expect from Bighorn tires. "
Price is about the same for either on ebay ($550-$600 for shipped set) where I found the best prices (if anyone knows where to get better price let me know).
I would like to know from those who have first hand knowledge which one they would recommend.
Thx, Jim
