Can anyone suggest an aftermarket air filter that will not allow particles to be sucked into the intake of a 09 700 rhino. Having to clean every 20 to 40 hrs. Is a joke. Yamaha needs to get a new bender for air filters.

I run a K&N air filter on a 686 and have never had a single issue to date. I clean all three of my filters (air, cvt, crankcase) after every single ride since there is some much invested in my engine and its can get dusty out there. Maintenance add longevity to your engine.
The way I see it is for example - when your nose gets stuffy with mocos - you can breath til you clean them out. Same concept to your engines air filter - just my .02 cents.

Thanks for the maintaining lesson. The airbox top was on and cleaned recently then the smoking started. I will look into the K N unit. I live in florida not the dustbowl.

If you choose the K&N filter, be sure to install a water repellent outer wear over it. It will help with the finer particles of dirt, but nothing will help better then proper maintenance.

Ordered the K&N with the prefilter. No mud or dust in the airbox. Dealer said dust was pulled through the filter and ruined the rings. Seems as though yamaha would put a better filtration system in.
