I took my new to me 2007 Sport 686 on its first ride and the the HMF exhaust was waaaay to loud. When I climbed steep grades or pushed too hard on the throttle it would back fire and when I came down any hill it would backfire continually. I am going to put in the quiet core which should quieten it down. My question is - Will the quiet core help with the back pressure and stop the back firing?

Your problem is most likely jetting...

Air flow at the intake is important even with a stock exhaust...with an aftermarket high flow exhaust it's a necessity...

Tuning your exhaust may help a bit but not at all the correct answer...

You may also have fuel delivery problems as well...

We make and sell a variety of custom fuel delivery kits for stock and high volume fuel pumps...with and w/o the pump...

The best and correct jet kit for the stock carb...ours...we put together exactly what you really need...

And we make and sell high performance custom air intakes...

If you are interested in any of it and not sure what to order just pm me your email and I will help you with it...

We solve this type of problem for people 7 days a week...!
