I live in new england so I dont do dunes or radical climbing.... It would be unsafe for that for sure. I was thinking for the rail bed where our camp is... nice and flat and the kids could hang in the back... thanks for the opinion and I welcome more.

Front facing would put rear passenger's heads well out of the protection of the roll cage. You would really want to add a rear roll cage to protect them. I think they figure that rear facing, the roll cage would still protect in case of rollover.

I have that rear seat. it is not that good at the very most. I did not drive over 5 mph with anyone sitting it and It was facing the rear when it was used. Do not waste your time or money. When any body sits there for some reason the Rhino has a high center of gravity. I'm actually getting rid of it. I got it at Cabelas for well under half price some one returned it. I just do not feel comfortable with anyone riding in back with that seat. I purchased this before I became a Forum member. If I ever do a back seat it will be done correctly with the right cage , seat and 4/5 point harnesses. Trust me when I say this thing is a Piece of **** just waiting to have a MAJOR PROBLEM. Also this has not been in my rhino for well over a year and a half I hope this helps answer your question .

thanks for all the input...

it got my attention as I want to set something up in the rear and was cheap. I dont live near any of you to make deal on a cage and seat set up. If anyone in new england sells a set up I will be all over it.

BYC makes a weld in 4 seat cage for a pretty good price (plus not being together will save you on shipping). Pick up a stock set of seats since you can get them cheap and add some belts. Should be able to have it all for under $700 and have a safe place for the kids!

Rode around in my brothers 4 seater this weekend with the Mattrack track system (woulda ridden my own Rhino but the snow was just too deep to get through with tires). He has a Jeep Wranger TJ seat in the back and a Speed industries cage extension installed (no belts yet but it was just me and we were just puttin around).
