Im finally ready to pull the trigger on the Alba carb and they raised their price to $215!!!!! Is it really worth $215 to bore the card and add a new butterfly? I thought the original $185 was a tad steep, but do-able. But this???!!!

What do y'all think??

Call them and say I was considering buying but then noticed you increasesd your price. Is there anyway I can get the old price since I was unaware of the planned price change.

:D Worth a try.
G
IMO I would wait.

I run the stock carb on my Rhino right now.

I bought the butterflies from Alba and bored out my carb myself.. I bored mine to 44.25 mm so that can save you some money doing it that way..
I have tried looking for butterflies to purchase on my own. No luck yet. But what did Alba charge to purchase a butterfly through them?

I paid $125 to get my carb bored for my quad. I does make a hell of a difference. Usually 1 to 3 horsepower!! And I only went from 40mm to 42mm. and that was a taper bore as well.

I have heard that you can go to 45mm with the Rhino carb. I know SOUTHBAYRHINO is using an FCR carb on his. I want to know the advantages of running one of those.

They charged me 40 bucks for the butterflies... and yes it makes a lot of difference...
Oscar the butterflies are 44.5mm? Do they have any bigger say 45 or 46mm???? That is a cheap price actually....

Yes when i miked them out before I started boren my carb thats what they measured at.. I dont know if they have bigger ones than the 44.25 thats just what they are using...
rhinocraft one is 185. i think they are a waste for a new butterfly and larger bore
I saved all that trouble and just bought a 45 mil mikuni

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Any feedback from anyone?
I have the Rhinocraft one but havent ran my rhino yet...It definatly revs a lot quicker though!! Ill give you an update once I have my new fuel pump installed.....And $185 isnt bad, considering all the local shops want $120 just to do a bore.....
What's involved in the bore? Is it just drilling the through hole out larger? The reason I ask is I have a lathe and usually when I want to drill a center in something round, I use it. I just chuck the part and put the drill bit on the dead center and use it.
yep, thats it...(as far as I know)!
