aight guys i need some help.
my neighbors 700 rhino will only do 30 mph.
at 30 it cuts out like the rev limiter but about every 2 seconds of hitting it it losses power to the point of the front end dropping down like you let off the gas completely.
i have checked the belt.it had slight wear on it but nothing major.
i removed the fuel pump and checked the filter but was clean.
checked the airfilter and ignition coil for leaks and etc.
it starting doing this all the sudden.he runs it every couple of days on his property for hauling limbs and etc.

could this be cdi breaking down and causing the early rev limit and stutter.
would my 660 cdi plug in and run his 700?
please help im about ready to burn this thing.:alcoholic::fingersx:

Don't think the 660 cdi is interchangeable. Did you check the grease in the sheave? Sheave could be gummed up.

with the CVT cover off and rhino in N rev it up to see if the sheaves move correctly.

could be the secondary sticking.

also measure the belt, its almost impossible to see if its in spec.

And while your in there put a Hot Rod sheave in it! lol

My 700 did the same thing the first time I took it out. It was caused by a couple of the sliders in the primary sheeve breaking apart an lodging themselves against the dust cover on the sheeve preventing the sheeve from closing all the way.
