has anyone tried to make there own intake on a 700. i have tried to research it ,but no luck. i removed the whole elephant trunk intake out of the rhino. i installed a 45 elbow off the trottle body and a filter directly to that. i then drilled a hole for the mafs. sounds great. idles great. drives up to 25 fine. have not been able to go faster in my area to test. just wanted to know if the intake being that short will do anything bad for the speed and torque on the rhino. i have dual yoshi's and will be installing my msd charge fi next week. thanks for any responses in advance!!!!!!

Sounds like the only thing your missing is the Hot Rod sheave! Let us know how the intake works out.
did you feel a difference from 0-25? I have been wanting to do this to a buddy's 700.

only way to find out is to run her! only problem might be changing the mapping. but I'm sure I will run good.
I'll have to wait and see. I have a ocotillo trip planned for the weekend before halloween. Can't wait to see how it does with the intake and new MSD. I'll post some results when i get back. I did feel a little more throttle response and felt to me like a quicker pick up till 25. How are you guys liking the jbs? That is my next purchase. Just want to find the right one.
x2 would like to know if it hurts anything that box takes up a lotta room under the engine cover....without it there would be a lot better air flow around the engine.........
ok cool, iv been wanting to try it on a 700 but dont have one lol.

the JBS is by far the best thing iv put on my rhino. puts a smile on your face anytime you hit the gas!

Don't throw away that elephant trunk, because I think you will be wanting to put it back.
when i take the lid off my 700 air box i lost big power im told the 700 needs the inclosed air box
came across this article, read down where the picture of the intake is, this is the only answer i can find as to why yamaha made the intake the way they did. but if anyone has or finds another answer please share...

did some more research and called a shop that knows there stuff. after he and i talked i decided im going to go back to stock till i can get a wideband and get some real numbers so no engine harm is done. once i get the wide band i will have a fuel map made and go for it and see what happens. i will update this when i get some test and tune time on it.

I installed a K&N intake system on mine, which already had a Raptor stage1 cam and Muzzy exhaust. I then took it to Alba Racing and Nate fine tuned my mapping on my old MSD unit, showing a gain in power on his dyno.
isley357, on the weekend of halloween at ocotilla there will be a poker run going on that sat & sun.
Just saw the calendar. I'm actually going from10/20-10/23 maybe ill try to hit the poker run as well.
