Did you just install the 686 kit? Did this problem just begin? When it cuts out will it restart or does i t have to sit? Can you vary the throttle to keep it running? Did you make any other changes prior to this problem happenning?

Sounds like junk getting sucked up into the fuel pickup to me.

Clear lines helped a little with troubleshooting my carb problems, although I never figured it out until I just replaced the carb..

The pump you have is more than sufficient. I would make sure theres no junk in the bottom of your tank, and double check the float level of your carb.

I agree that it could be float level since it happens in the whoops. I have also seen the small brass cup that the main jet sits in get forgotten and that would cause a similar effect. Also make sure that your tank is venting properly.

By making sure you vent line is clear and your rollover valve is functioning properly...

All of our fuel kits include the ability to test your fuel level in the float and most of them allow you test your float pressure and that is always available upon request...
