489's for desert?

Anyone have any problems with these tires in the desert?

Two riders in my group got flats in the same spot last weekend with brand new 489's......

i have seen the same thing i believe those are only 4 ply tires so i would think the sidewalls are pretty thin.

I have heard similar issues....

just means I need to get some Big Horns for desert use. More money...

That's what I don't want to deal with two sets of tires...but I guess if you want the best tires for all terrain types, you just need to buy a set of tires for each terrain you drive. More money... :evil:

489 tires

What size tires are you guys running? Are they the same on all 4?

I'm running 25x10x12 on the front and 25x11x12 on the back.
