What Sandbuster said. New sheave, clutch, change out the stock CDI and replace with an aftermarket one to get rid of the limiter, fuel/ignition module, the list is endless. But changing the sheave and CDI will give you the easiest gains.
yes, if you’re in Cali you’re kind of screwed as the emission laws don’t allow for tuner mods. I had a Power Commander and it worked good until it didn’t. I recently bought a far better one from a company in Canada. It’s called VDI Copperhead. It’s an actual ECU that replaces the stock CDI and works way better than my Procomm CDI and Power Commander.
