I'd just bought a low hours and mileage 2008 700 Rhino. It had blown head gasket and the previous owner changed it. Well, he didn't time it right and obviously he didn't change the oil with water in it. I corrected the time, flushed engine 3 times (still lil milky) changed the spark plugs, siphoned the old gas and put in 91 octane gas, flushed out the old gas in the line. Well it does not start. I'd switched out the fuel injector, CDI , spark plug and the coil but no luck ( I have a good running 2008 700 Rhino). They are both using the stock CDI
The compression is 110. The error code is 42. Check engine light illuminated.(ON)
When I was cranking and floor the throttle, it back fires. I am running out of the ideas. Please help. BTW, my good running Rhino has 65 psi when crank. Is it possible the previous owner when set timing incorrect it caused the bent valves?

Update the fix. It was an easy fix after spent hours troubleshot. All it was that I switched the wires on the coil and it fired right up. Although the check engine light still come on after about 2 minutes run and stay on. Now I have another problem is that the idle speed is little fast and the clutch would be engaged. I'd played with throttle adjust but no changing in the speed. Any idea?

Idles speed is controlled by the ecu, gets a signal from crank position sensor. When it is running too slow or fast at idle the eco tells the idle speed control valve to open and close. At idle the throttle is completely closed that is why your adjustment did nothing, the idle air was going through the ISCV so take it off and clean it. It is a black deal on the drivers side of the throttle body, has three screws on it.

Clean it with carb cleaner.

The next thing is the throttle sensor voltage needs to be adjusted at idle, been too long to tell you the voltage, but .72 comes to mind

You measure the voltage at the sensor with some wire piercing leads on a volt meter, three wires, one is ground, one reference voltage at 5 vdc and the variable voltage, you connect to the ground and variable, the variable is what has to be set by moving the sensor and it does not take much. The screws are taper proof hex, can't remember the size
