These are the test results of my stator. Please let me know if you think it's ok or bad. These are across each of the three wires.


200 ohm test, 1-2=.7 1-3=.7 2-3=.7

AC ouput Low idle, 1-2=19.5V 1-3=2.3V 2-3=21V
AC output high idle, 1-2=41V 1-3=2.1V 2-3=41V

Unless there is a mis-type there, your AC voltage measurements show a problem on the 2.3 measured volt output leg, as the other two legs are putting out 20'ish volts at low idle. Since the high idle voltages show the same sort of mismatch, I suspect that it is real. The 20-40 V AC readings look reasonable based on my memory, but the 2V measured leg is dead. It could conceivably be a bad electrical connection at an electrical connector in the circuit?

The resistance measurements are suspect, as it takes a special type of Ohm-meter to make accurate measurements at the sub-tenth ohm range. A 200 ohm range setting does not accurately measure at the last digit (1/10 ohm). If I recall correctly, the reistance is only a tenth or two tenths ohms (a dead short to an ordinary ohm-meter).

Oh, by the way; touch the ohm-meter probes together and you will see a few tenths ohm reading that bounces around a bit. That shows the error in the measurement at low resistance values...

Yes Benzo I seen your post and do thank you for the reply, I was only wanting to confirm these reading with everyone before I ordered the parts. It's hard to waste $300 bucks hoping that fixes it. The low reading on one leg isn't a mis type. So thanks for everyones help with this. I'll put a new stator in.

Put the new stator in today, everything working as it should. Hope it last longer than 2800 miles. Installed it myself, cost was right at $300 for everything.
