I can't figure this one out. My 06 Rhino 660 SE starts and runs but as soon as I apply the brakes to put it in gear the engine dies like I shut the key off. Anyone have an idea what could cause this? Thanks!
I had the same problem- press on the brakes and it died. I don't think it's a short because the fuse would blow in that case. In my case it was the ignition switch itself- the contacts were so dirty and corroded, there was a bunch of extra resistance, and the extra load from the brake lights lowered the voltage on the switched circuit enough that the CDI couldn't make a spark. You can test this by bypassing the ignition switch. But it's pretty easy to clean the contacts, or else a new switch is only $15 on Amazon.
A bit of philosophy: There's only one good thing about Rhino clonespoop I've decided. It makes me a better mechanic because just about everything goes wrong with them.😐
