I can't figure this one out. My 06 Rhino 660 SE starts and runs but as soon as I apply the brakes to put it in gear the engine dies like I shut the key off. Anyone have an idea what could cause this? Thanks!

Disconnect the brake switch and see what happens.

If it keeps running, repair or replace the switch.

If it still quits, there is probably an issue in the wiring upstream of the switch.

I had the same problem- press on the brakes and it died. I don't think it's a short because the fuse would blow in that case. In my case it was the ignition switch itself- the contacts were so dirty and corroded, there was a bunch of extra resistance, and the extra load from the brake lights lowered the voltage on the switched circuit enough that the CDI couldn't make a spark. You can test this by bypassing the ignition switch. But it's pretty easy to clean the contacts, or else a new switch is only $15 on Amazon.

A bit of philosophy: There's only one good thing about Rhino clones:)poop:) I've decided. It makes me a better mechanic because just about everything goes wrong with them.😐
