I have a 2006 Yamaha rhino 450 that seems to be having fuel pump issues. Rhino will crank up fine and run for approximately 10 to 15 minutes and shuts off as though its out of fuel. I installed new fuel pump thinking pump was bad only to find same thing happening with new pump. furthermore i installed a inline primer bulb thinking it was loosing prime. Once primed back up with bulb, rhino will crank right up and run for another 10 or 15 minutes before cutting off again . I am at this point stumped. I welcome any insight that anyone might have on fuel problem.

Verify your gas tank is venting. If your vent is plugged it will start to suck in the sides of the gas tank. Loosen the gas cap and run it for the 10 or 15 minutes. If it does not die that is the problem.
My tank came new without a hole in the vent nipple. Took me a couple months to figure out what was going on.

Thanks I disconnected vent hose from apparatus on the end of vent hose and rhino has run fine. I am assuming the apparatus is stopped up and wasn't letting fuel tank get air.

I have two of them Rhino's everybody in the company hates them. We use them for grade checking and they run all day all off road. I started to have problem with the fuel system. I did the fuel pumps and filter. What I did find out was when it ran out of fuel and shut off. The gas tank would be in vacuum. I looked and found that a breather is installed and vents into the frame right next to the fuel pump. Checking more I found a kinked hose going to the breather. Once I took care of the vent it would run all day for weeks. But it would run out sometimes and when it did I primed the fuel hoe going into the carburetor, Some how the fuel is not getting into the fuel bowl. like its getting to hot and vapor locking.. Good luck hope you find a cure and if you do let us know.

Well vent breather was the problem. I thinking may be temperature related. If put under load it will loose prime. I have to keep squeezing primer bulb to keep it running after the 15 minutes as I mentioned in intial post. Still puzzled.

Install a good electric pump, fuel filter and pressure regulator on it and be through with fuel problems. I run my regulator at 2.5 psi.
