Have a few questions for the guys that have had the exhaust studs break off in the head. I have a real mess on my hands now and probably have to remove the head to work on these bolts.

Has anyone heli coiled these studs? How deep can you drill don't want to get into the water jacket. Can you do this on the machine? Thanks for the help guys.

We do not heli-coil them we time-cert or keencert them. Either of those is going to be much stronger than a heli-coil.

Cally Kelly at KMS Performance 1-602-442-4340 he has a fix for this problem.

you can get them out by welding a slightly large nut over the stud let cool and remove with wrench. somtime it takes a few attempts

THanks for the reply guys. I will get started on this tonight. Didn't figure the helicoil was the best option but was out of ideas.

We drilled my buds out...yeah it was a REAL pain in the arse!!! We re threaded it and put a bigger stud in it. Is it perfect? NO...does it leak...no!! If you have a right angle drill, it helps a lot!!
