LBR Our last trip down that way a couple months ago, we camped at Johnson Valley/KOH area and found our way to Slash X thru the backroads...it was 53 miles one way. The ride over was daylight and clear....ride back was dark and blurry (no, not because of fog either!!).....lol

src92805 I remember Slash X well. I will pick a spot and let you know where we are camping.

TINKEN There are two Stoddard wells exits, you can exit either one, but the second one is preferable. The old riding area around bell mountain is now closed, so you must drive further up the road to the new area. I have marked several red dots where you can camp away from the large flat areas where you will find all of the bro's (and dust). This is a massive riding area which encompasses all of Stoddard wells, Barstow and Lucerne Valley. SlashX is about 20 miles from your camp towards Barstow, bar and grill (young kids okay), there is no gas there so make sure you can make a round trip. There is a lot of flat-haul-ass across the desert stuff and there are mild to insane rock climbs. You couldn't see it all if you stayed out there a month. Carry water, even if you are going a short distance from camp.

src92805 As far as I know we are going up on sat takes me about an.hour and a half to get there riding around for the day. We will camp that night head back home next day. Would love to have someone who knows the area to ride some of the trails. I looked on google maps what I thought was the ohv area and where we used to ride are 2 different areas we always exited on the second stoddard wells road and took.it past all the houses until it turned to dirt then another couple miles past that. Was an old mine shaft up on a hill close to where we camped and set up. But that was a good 15 years ago. We can figure out how to meet up later on in.the week.

TINKEN 123F. Run, jump in Colorado river, get in soaked. Haul ass 14 miles down Indian pike road, cross Nevada border (hope you have helmet on, cops hiding in tree shade waiting), get ice creams at Avi Casino, jump in water, repeat back to beach. Jump in river along the way as necessary.

TINKEN I wish you did live closer. We ride desert or mountains, woods, snow, all pretty close. It gets pretty hot in the summer, so we head to Arizona and hang by the river.

TINKEN Let me know if you would like riding company this weekend. Bell mountain is my back yard.

src92805 Thats my thinking. I will verify that this weekend! I am hoping thats the fix.

RHINO RAT The previous owner should have re-jetted when he opened up the air intake, when you put it back to stock may have acted like a chock running to rich.

src92805 I am having a carb issues. at have throttle it feels like it is loading up and if I punch it , it will clear. I did a post about this in another section. As I stated there the previous owner put in a big bore kit and he ran it open air box with a hard connection K&N. When I got it I went through and started replacing missing parts which included the airbox cover. I put that back on and it seems to have ran worse since then. So after getting last night I removed it and it seems like it is breathing better. But I wont know until I take it out this coming weekend. If it still does this then I will yank the carb and do a rebuild. Thats something I normally do when I buy a used bike, this should be no different. I have a 91 DR 250 that did the same thing as this it felt like it was loading up at half throttle. So I redid the carb and that cured the issue. I noticed that after removing the airbox it seems to run and idle better.
