Selling my Concept 2 rowing machine

Concept 2 Model C indoor rower with PM2+ controller and laptop computer, Rowpro software and heart rate monitor. All included in one for sale package.

Offered with no reserve and starting price of $.01. I'll end the auction early for $1000.

System is sold as is with no warranty. Contact your physician for approval before starting any exercise routine.

Concept 2 rower details:
Model C rower is in great working order with no mechanical defects and all controls and moving parts function normally. The rower has upgraded seat padding from concept 2 that provides improved comfort when rowing and has tailbone relief in the padding. This helps prevent numbing during extended rowing exercise. The row handle has also been upgraded from the Model C wood handle to the Model D ergonomic handle. The wheels and chair roll smoothly with no clunky feeling or flat spots. The pull handle and chain operate smoothly and have been properly maintained.

The concept 2 is widely used at universities and rowing clubs because it accurately reproduces on-water rowing. The fan and clutch work together to simulate rowing resistance on water and resistance automatically increases, as the user tries to go faster. The system includes an air damper to add more resistance to the rower during exercise. This is adjusted on a user controlled slide that can be set where the user likes to row best.

PM2+ rower controller:
The heart of the system is the rowing controller. This rower uses the PM2+ controller and the options included are heart rate monitoring and serial computer connection. The PM2+ starts automatically when the handle is pulled and allows rowing with time, speed, average speed, strokes per minutes, and heart rate display for the user. You can toggle between different types of user feedback depending on what is desired.

Rowing laptop: Laptop table not included
Included is the laptop I have always used with this rower. It works great with this rower and only has small problems that don’t affect it’s use as a rowing monitor. The system is a Hewlett Packard omnibook 6100. It uses Windows 2000 Professional and is powered by a Pentium III processor running at 1Ghz. It has 256k memory and a 20Gig harddrive. Included with this system is the HP docking station, floppy drive, RW CD drive, and DVD drive. I’ll also include the manufacturer supplied ghost recovery CD’s. With these bootable recovery CD’s you can restore the software to like new when the system was created. I just completed wiping my old information and reinstalling all software so it is like new. I added the Rowpro software into the system but that’s all and the rowpro installer software is located in the administrator “my documents” area. The issues with this laptop are the batteries are worn out and don’t work. Laptop needs to always be plugged into AC power. The other problem is occasionally the key stroke isn’t read by the laptop and you need to retype the key. Normally key works fine but 1 out of 20 strokes approximately need to be repeated once. Other than those 2 issues it works great. Internet works fine with Ethernet connection but has no wireless installed.

RowPro from $99 Value
Included in the laptop is a copy of Rowpro version 1.8 fully loaded and licensed. This license will transfer to the new owner after auction ends. Rowpro further simulates rowing by displaying a rower on water and moves at the speed of the Concept 2 rower. This system’s key features are graph display of the rowing speed and a graph of the heart rate. One feature that I liked was the system allows the user to race against previous workouts. The screen can have up to 3 past exercises and the current one for a total of 4 rowers on the screen at a time. This makes it easy to track your progress and motivates you to constantly improve. Another feature is with an internet connection you can join internet racing, up to 8 racers on screen, or workout with someone else and see their boats displayed on the screen while you workout. User also can create a desired workout and save it for future use. When the selected exercise routine is started it automatically downloads to the Concept 2 PM2+ controller.

This software is a $99 value.

Heart rate monitor:
Included is the Polar chest transmitter. This chest transmitter sends wireless heart rate information to the PM2+ controller and is displayed on the screen. The system also includes a remote receiver wired to the rower to receive these heart rate signals. I use spectra 360 electrode gel to improve the contact. Sweat also works after you get going but some interface helps to improve the reading of the heart. This heart rate monitoring is a key part of any exercise machine and I would not own a machine without it. Heart rate monitoring allows the user to target the heart rate for weight loss staying in the aerobic zone or go higher to the anaerobic zone to improve condition.

“The Concept 2 rower is a brilliant piece of exercise kit, being robust, fairly portable and free from ridiculous technological complications. It gives pretty much an all-over workout with the minimum of impact/injury, and is great for people recovering from injury. You can use the ergometer at home, or at one of the countless gyms across the world where this brilliant kit can be found. A quick tip - if you keep the chain level/flat and as silent as possible, you know that you are doing it right. It requires two AA batteries and that's it - no need to plug it in. It also picks up polar heart rate monitors, so you can see what your heart rate is doing. If I was allowed only one piece of cardiovascular equipment to have in a gym, I'd choose the Concept 2. I know a number of people that have a Concept 2 for their home use, and they are delighted with them.”

“Overall, the Concept 2 Model C ergnometer rowing machine is very well built. It is well known and celebrated as the universal ergometer, in indoor erg races such as Monster Erg, Crash-B and others. It is liked for its performance and durability.”

“If you're looking to buy a rowing machine for serious training, you might like to visit boathouses across America (and the world) to see what everyone uses. Then again, you can save yourself the trouble by reading this: Concept II Ergometers are the standard used by nearly every competitive rower around the world.---------Why you might want to get a Concept II Ergometer:---------* Do you want to row seriously? No question, this is the machine for you. Physically more demanding than other machines, you can't do better than a Concept II without buying antique "Gamut" rowing machines.* Do you want to get in very, very good shape? The Concept II is a professional machine that gives a full-body workout. It's not intended to be one piece of a home gym or just one part of your workout -- the Concept II is a complete cardiovascular workout that will leave you exhausted and will make you fit.* Do you feed off of explicit numerical feedback during your workout? The Concept II comes with a performance monitor that won't lie to you. Down to the tenth of a second or single meter, this performance monitor will let you know what went well .... and what didn't .... during a particular workout.”

**This rower is for sale locally also so I reserve the right to cancel early if it is sold locally.

Look perfect for me. Do you still have the machine or it's already sold? I know this an old post and it's likely that it might have been sold. Let me know how much was the price in which it got sold or if it's still available, let me know.

I am quite interested!
