Can the Kodiak 450 engine swap to Rhino 450

I've bought a 2007 Rhino for my wife but engine quits can not start. When it ran the engine sounds awful and I was itching to have it completely rebuilt. I just bought a 2006 Kodiak and this thing runs good but there some attention needs for the plastic/axles/brakes. Question is can I swap that 2006 engine to the rhino? The engine numbers are the same. Thanks for the help

Welcome to the site, I'm no mechanic, but from what I've seen on here it's a pain to swap due to tranny set up. Maybe someone with the know how will chime in.

Aside the trany set up, are those engines the same? gear ratio? Do I have to change any internal parts of the engine?

So the rhino is a 450 model, even with the 660 raptor engines it's not a straight easy swap. Do a search here for engine swap and see what pops up you may find some answers.

On search I found where Hunterworks did a swap with the 660 grizzly and the quads have a park position in their tranny that has to be removed.
