27" ITP M/S 589's and 5+2 ITP Delta Wheels - Different spacers - Pics

did a lot of searches and reading through threads

General concensus was:
  • 26-27" tires,
  • Offset 5+2 wheels
  • 1" spacers on front, 2" on rear
got ITP Delta Steel 5+2 12" wheels

mounted on them were ITP 589 M/S 27x9 and 27x11

took comparison photos in this order:
  1. stock wheel
  2. new wheels n tires with 2" spacers
  3. new wheels n tires with 1" spacers
Wanted to see how it looked and how much fender flare coverage I'd need.

No dunes or racing. Just tooling around the hills and hunting.

Hope this helps others and wins me the Nobel Prize.
Ok, so I had plenty of beer and time on my hands.

Rear stock

Rear ITP 5+2 589 27x11x12 M/S 2" spacers

Rear ITP 5+2 589 M/S 27x11x12 M/S 2" spacers - 5" fender coverage needed

Rear ITP 5+2 589 M/S 27x11x12 M/S 1" spacers - 4" fender coverage needed

Rear ITP 5+2 589 M/S 27x11x12 M/S No spacers - 3" fender coverage needed

Front Stock no spacers

Front ITP 5+2 589 M/S no spacers

Front ITP 5+2 589 M/S 27x9x12 1" spacer

Next gotta find the flares with the most coverage.

Any suggestions?

For flares I would go by a truck stop or a semi parts shop and get a black rubber mud flap ($10 or so), take and cut a piece the size and shape that you want and bolt it to the foot boards, one flap should be enough to do both side with plenty left over.

Like this, but would be better because the mud flaps are stronger, more flexible, and you can make it the size that you want, not counting the $50+ savings. We did this on our hunting golf cart and it works great, and looks decent.

Then get some over fenders.

After doing both, you should rarely get mud slung on you.

Another thing to add.

The rear ITP Delta Steel Wheels have a backspace of 5.5"

The Stock rear wheels have a backspace of 5".

So, without any spacers at all you already gain .5" plus the extra width of the tire itself. Say another inch.

Add the 2" spacer and that throws the outside edge of the tire out a buttload.

Great, I will look into this. Add this to the flares.

Looks like the only flares available that are wide enough are the Meier Flares.

I'd like to see a measured before and after.
