EXHAUST on the CHEAP!
Since I bought my new to me 2006 Rhino I have had to DE-BLING it! Kid before me made it a 'rolling camp radio'. After I rewired it, removed four cheap roof lights, several stereo related mounts, tightened EVERY BOLT, Etc, I was ready to rock with my own upgrades. First was a electric fuel pump, then new seat mounts, repaired factory doors, then the EXHAUST! Lets get something straight right now.....I'm cheap, er frugal. I can generally find a cheaper yet just as good alternative to most high dollar mods. I removed the wasted factory muffler, left the original header, and built my own exhaust....NO WELDING! I went to JEG'S, bought a Thrush Turbo muffler, a Prebent 2" diameter 3.5" radius bend pipe, two universal hangers and three 2" muffler clamps. After I removed the factory exhaust pipe, I slipped a tight fitting piece of pipe about two inches long over the Yamaha pipe, test fit the 2" Prebent 'U', cut it to size, slipped on muffler, added a small tailpipe made from the remnant 'U' bend and clamped it all tight. I supported the connection and the muffler. Had a beer! Sounds GREAT! Not loud, Not quiet, Looks good, Not expensive....Goldilocks would be real proud. Oh Yeah...How Much? Well, Muffler $23, Pipe $14, Clamps $12, Hangers $16... so about $65! BTW, I only used the small end of the adapter for my sleeve, sorry about the fuzzy rear shot. I really could not be happier.
