Yes, thanks Erniejoe1, good to know. How bad is the dealer going to @#$^ me for a gasket? I didn't even think of that.

Also, I already got a regular output stator, however, the only accessory I have is a cd deck. You think I'll have a problem?

Just Google Rhino stator install and you will get a few step by step instructions, I used the Hunterworks one , and it helped alot except i took the gas tank out and the dont it gives you alot more room.

So far I have 4 vision x HIDs the 50 watters, in the middle of installing dome, rear amber and whip. I plan on installing an intercom/cb also

The gasket is about 10. plus shipping if you have it delivered.

Hunterworks is the one I used, worked very well follow step by step you can't go wrong.

I've heard that its a hit and miss with HO stators, hopefully they've had time to iron out the problems.
I forgot to mention that I did upgrade my battery to a PC925 it does fit in the tray youll need to shim the one side or the other because its not as wide as the stock one.
I'm going to R&D the stator this weekend.

Made it back from my trip and was pleasantly surprised.
I did notice a powerloss not much but I felt it.
Running all accessories which include 4 50 watt hids + 2 piaa 55 watt and driving lights my voltage gauge was right at 13volts. If you turn the driving lights and the 2 55 watt piaas off im at 13.5.
Im thinking my 4 50 watt hids were way over kill, I mean the guys back at camp seen me adjusting my lights on the mountain about 2 miles from camp...lol

Hahaha, that could be a bit overkill! At least you had no issues.

I finally pulled my stator using the Hunterworks guide. One of the coils looks like it was burnt/fried to hell.

Just got the gasket and had to razor off all the remains from the old one. Should be back together tonight then I'll check the voltage.

Question: I have never changed the oil yet, what do you guys use? Any issues with synthetic or should I go with Yamaha's stuff?

A bit overkill was right...lol

I stuck with the yamalube, reason is yamaha tests are very extensive and the money they spend in R&D is unbelievable, not saying that its the best but i belive for their equipment it probably is.

Went with Yamalube, all back together and running.

Tested each leg on the stator and I'm getting 15-17 volts for each combo.

With stator unplugged, I'm getting 13.10 V at the battery.

(I put dielectric grease in both plugs).

With the stator plugged in, I'm getting 13.81 V at the battery.

Do these numbers sound right for a standard output stator? Cause I'm ready for a hunt.

Actually, after trickle charging the battery I'm getting 13.8 Rhino off, and 14.5 Rhino idling. Not much difference with headlights or stereo on.
