adjusting the valves (when-to )

when shouldyou adjust the valves on a 07 660 recently added a cdi box it sounds fine my top speed is 50 -51 mph

The manual recommends the first 20 hours then every 150 hours.

I did my 700 at 40hrs and only one was out of spec

Was it the exhaust? I hear the exhaust side likes to heat up and stretch out.
